Italian Family Sforza

I've always wanted to live in a tree house, ever since I was a kid and watched the Swiss Family Robinson at the drive-in theater. It captured my imagination. But the real allure began when I visited the Swiss Family Robinson's tree house at Disneyland. I was annoyed by the crowds of people pushing through the visceral experience. My brother and I, along with a group of neighborhood kids always had some plan in the works to build a tree fort and "live" in it. The tree fort never ended up being more than a few pieces of scrap lumber hastily hammered, tied and wired to a tree in the woods near our neighborhood. A far cry from the wonder of imagination and invention of the Robinson's tree house, and not to mention that the neighborhood woods completely lacked the panache of good old fashioned pirate raid.

I still think about it from time to time. It appeals to me in a carefree sort of way, that lofty humble abode gently swaying in the breeze, creaking like an old sailing ship, resplendent in its weather polished wood and seasoned in golden hues.

With my pirate alarm set, I'll settle in with a good book and a glass of wine.

And, by the way, this photo was shot with the iPhone camera.
