Sometimes We Forget

Day 18 - Photo 18. They come and go nearly every day. We see them in the airports. Sometime we'll never even know because they are not wearing the uniform. Sometimes they leave and return in large groups. Sometimes they come and go by ones and twos. Sometimes it even makes the news, buried inside the newspaper's pages or half way through the evening news.

David came home today. He traveled half way around the world, by himself. He came home following a military tour in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was met by his brother, nephew, four fellow military friends and a welcome home banner from a local school. No parades, bands or cheering crowds. We're glad he's home. He's glad he's home.

Sometimes we forget. They come and go.
